Kurt Cobain was imitating "The Pixies" he even emulated the vocal intonations/inflections of "The Pixies"- Nirvana's sound was not original-"The Pixies" definitely influencial-

Madonna, again ripped off Malcolm McLaren for years- "Vogue" is knock off of "Deep In Vogue" by Malcolm McLaren(Sex Pistols-Adam Ant-Frankie Goes To Hollywood)- do you know Malcolm designed the punk-new wave movement with Derek Jarman in the earlier 70's.

Please, the true influences are never revealed- Malcolm molded his creations after Opera's and classical arts- the most influencial musicians in history never saw an automobile roll down the street.
