OCALA, Fla. -- An Ocala man's hopes of getting a good night's sleep were dashed when a car slammed into the side of a brick home and pushed the couch he was sleeping on away from the wall.

Police said a patrol officer stopped a white Buick sedan for a traffic violation Saturday morning. When the officer went to speak with the driver, the vehicle sped away, police said.

As the officer searched for the vehicle, dispatchers received a call from a man from the same area claiming someone drove a car into a house. The vehicle had hit a wood electrical pole before cutting through the front yard and hitting the house.
