MELBOURNE, Fla. -- A former St. Lucie County firefighter has been arrested on charges that she took home a Melbourne man's amputated foot following a September car crash.

An arrest warrant was issued late Friday for Cindy Economou, who was picked up Monday afternoon, said Florida Highway Patrol spokesman Lt. Tim Frith.

Economou was charged with petit theft, a second-degree misdemeanor, Frith told Local 6 News partner Florida Today.
