PIEDMONT -- The decomposed body of a woman was found in a Piedmont home whose owner has not been seen in years, police said Wednesday.
An autopsy by the Alameda County coroner found no obvious signs of injury but confirmed the woman had suffered from an unspecified medical condition, said Piedmont police Capt. John Hunt.
The woman's identity has not been released, but Hunt said she was born in 1922. Public records show that the home at Highland and Blair avenues was owned by Patricia Bostrom, whose birth date was in 1922.
Police are looking into whether the body was improperly disposed of, at the least, and spoke Wednesday to a "person of interest" in that regard, Hunt said.
That person, whom Hunt would not identify, is believed to be the last one to have seen the woman alive....
