Excerpt: A 43-year-old Akron man has been charged with stealing from a 92-year-old neighbor.

Christopher Pursley of Ellet Avenue is accused of ransacking his neighbor's home as she was sleeping Friday night, said Lt. Rick Edwards, public information officer for the Akron Police Department. He has been charged with burglary.

The woman told police someone forced open her side door and stole her television, microwave, vacuum cleaner and an undetermined amount of cash.

Pursley was identified as a suspect through fingerprints taken from the scene.

Police arrested him as he was pulling into his driveway early Saturday morning.

Pursley was charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence and he was booked into the Summit County Jail.

Police said they recovered some of the victim's property at Pursley's residence.
