The look on Chris Popp's face was unmistakable.
He beamed with love and pride as he talked about his fiancé Heather Snively.
"She was phenomenal – Heather had a big heart and was accepting to everyone," Popp told reporters Monday afternoon following a preliminary hearing for Korena Roberts, the Cedar Hills woman accused of murdering Snively and their unborn son. Popp and Snively planned to name the baby John Stephen.
She also had her priorities straight, he said.
"The three most important people in her life were God, John Stephen and myself," Popp said.
Popp sat with his sister and her family in the front row of a Washington County courtroom earlier that day and listened as Roberts pleaded not guilty to aggravated murder charges related to his fiancé's brutal slaying.
Afterward, he faced a room of reporters and reflected on his relationship with Snively and their short time together in Oregon....
In my mind, if there were ever a reason to have and use the death penalty, this is the case. Korena Roberts destroyed so many lives. I don't see a use for a monster like this.
