A pedestrian died after being struck by a car and dismembered Tuesday night in Jonesboro.
The woman was walking across Tara Boulevard at North Avenue around 8:30 P.M. and was struck by a car in an outside lane.
"The pedestrian was dismembered and came to rest in the intersection," said Clayton County police spokesman Otis Willis III.
The driver, who was not identified, is being tested for drug and alcohol use. Police have called in the Georgia State Patrol to help with the investigation.
As of late Tuesday no charges had been filed. The victim's identity was not immediately available.
